TO SHARE YOUR EXPERTISE beyond the classroom — to colleagues, grad students, academic libraries, even to the general public — consider publication. How does one go about it?
YOU'VE BEEN PUBLISHED IN JOURNALS, you've focused on a fertile area of research; maybe you're even the Department Chair. Where do you go from here? It's time to consider creating your own publication program. You're already spending the time; why not put it to good use, and help others to be published as well?
YOU'RE DOING HALF THE JOB ALREADY with materials you've edited, revised, and researched, submitting papers to journals that are vaguely related to your topic. Colleagues working the same field face the same problems you do. What if someone were to step up and organize an appropriate journal? Maybe it's about time to think about doing it yourself (and probably do a better job). The secret is that you're the ideal person to write grant proposals and secure funding. (For tips on grant-writing, visit the Grants Page.)
COLLEGE EDITIONS CAN DO THE OTHER HALF of the job, working with you to build a better book. We start with your MSS, work with you to develop a design that you approve, submit proof stages to you to get it just right. Every time we deliver boxes of books to our customers, there's an air of excitement and a real sense of accomplishment.

CAN WE DO eBOOKS? Yes, in different formats. Choices abound. EBooks works on a different economic model; libraries are grappling with this and so are publishers. Do you want to make information freely available, self-supporting, or as a profit center? Will ebooks be simply a website resource, or permanent? Check the eBooks page for details.
